Indirect Speech : ประโยคคำสั่งหรือประโยคขอร้อง
หลักการเปลี่ยน Direct Speech ให้เป็น Indirect Speech ในกรณีที่ประโยค Direct Speech เป็นประโยคคำสั่งหรือประโยคขอร้อง
1. เลือกใช้คำกริยานำ
( Reportig Verb ) ให้เหมาะสม ตามปรกติมักจะใช้คำเหล่านี้

ขอร้อง ( ให้ทำกระทำ ) โดยปรกติแล้วจะใช้คำนี้เมื่อประโยคเดิมมีคำว่า "please" |

|
บอก ( ให้ทำ...... ) เช่นบอกให้ทำสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่ง คำนี้นิยมใช้มากเพราะเป็นคำกลางๆ ไม่เฉียบขาดเกินไป และไม่อ่อนเกินไป ในกรณีที่หาคำเหมาะสมไม่ได้ ขอแนะนำ ให้ใช้คำนี้นะครับ |

เตือน, แนะนำ ( ให้กระทำ ) เช่น แนะนำ ตักเตือนให้กระทำสิ่งในสิ่งหนึ่ง |

สั่ง ( ธรรมดา ) เช่น อาจารย์สั่งนักศึกษา |
|
|
สั่ง ( เฉียบขาด ) เช่น ผู้บังคับบัญชาสั่งลูกน้อง |

|
งขอร้อง
( ให้กระทำ ) ใช้เช่นเดียวกับ ask แต่ความหมายของคำๆ นี้ จะดูอ่อนน้อม กว่านะครับ
ควรใช้ในกรณีที่ประโยคเดิมมีคำสุภาพมากในการขอร้อง เช่น
Would you mind ( please ) ...............? |
2. จะต้องระบุผู้สั่ง ( ขอร้อง ) และผู้ถูกสั่ง
( ขอร้อง ) เสมอ
3. สั่งให้ทำอะไร ขอร้องให้ทำอะไร ให้เติม to
หน้ากริยาตัวนั้นเลยครับ แต่ถ้ากริยานั้นอยู่ในรูปปฏิเสธให้ใช้

Direct : He said to me, " Please open
that window. "
Indirect : He asked
me to open that
window.
Direct : She said to my brother, " Don't
shut the door. "
Indirect : She told
my brother not to
shut the door.
Direct : He said to his friend, " Don't smoke
too much. "
Indirect : He warned
to his friend not to
smoke too much.
Direct : The doctor to me, " Drink water
as much as you can. "
Indirect : The doctor advised
to me to drink
water as much as I can.
Direct : The teacher said to the students,
" Be quiet! "
Indirect : The teacher ordered
the students to
be quiet.
Direct : The General said to his soldiers,
" Be patient! "
Indirect : The General commanded
to his soldiers to
be patient.
Direct : She said to her boss, " Please sign your
name in this paper. "
Indirect : She begged
to her boss to
sign his name in this paper.
